This entire process usually takes approximately 20 man-hours. The net time used depends on how many people are available for the football field painting. The bigger the crew, the faster they can measure and mark the football field turf. Split across three people, the process will usually take 6-7 hours.
This is where an automatic field painter can significantly reduce the time and effort required. All of the walking, pulling ropes, and measuring distances become redundant because the field painter uses a field template that is always 100% accurate. The templates are available in different versions depending on the type of football.
The templates can be customized whenever necessary. For instance, for training purposes where hash marks are not required, it’s possible to deselect them to save time and paint. This can be done instantly with a single tap on the user's tablet. The hash marks can then be added later when the football field needs to be ready for an actual game.
This also applies to the coaching and player areas, which can be added or removed as needed. Individual lines on the football field can even be deactivated during painting. This can be useful for training or if some lines should be painted in a different color.
